"Love is my religion"
Hello, my name is Corella “Corie” Fairchild, and I am a greater Houston area muralist, chalk artist, educator, and designer originally from the Pacific Northwest. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design with honors from the University of Houston–Clear Lake in 2016. For over a decade I have created vibrant, community-centered artwork throughout Texas and beyond. I love to travel both near and far, drawing inspiration from the places, people, and cultures I encounter along the way.
My work is rooted in storytelling, accessibility, and connection. I believe public art has the power to transform everyday spaces into places of curiosity, joy, and belonging. Through murals, live art experiences, and fine art, I aim to create work that feels both visually engaging and emotionally grounded. I am especially inspired by bold and pastel color palettes, organic lines, nostalgia, nature, and the beauty of human connection.
My artwork has appeared in public spaces, businesses, community organizations, festivals, and private residences. These spaces include projects for Carol Fox Park in Jersey Village, The Woodlands Children’s Museum, Attack Poverty – Friends of Northside, and multiple arts and chalk festivals across Texas. I have also exhibited my fine art in galleries including Hardy & Nance Studios, Texas Art Asylum, Samara Gallery, and the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center.
As both an artist and educator, I am passionate about making art approachable and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. Through public art, workshops, and community engagement, I strive to create experiences that invite people to slow down, feel inspired, and connect more deeply with themselves, each other, and the places around them.
